The EU Conference on Plastics is all about collaboration and shared passion for innovation between companies, cities, regions, NGO’s, governments and individuals. In an (inter)active programme: one extensive workshop in the form of roundtable discussions, we will jointly seek for innovative circular solutions to close the plastics loop and to determine what is necessary to put them in practice. It might be a complex process, but together we can beat this challenge! Creating and investing in new (inter)national partnerships are key when it comes to accelerating the transition towards a circular economy. This conference provides you the unique opportunity to share your expertise and experiences to overcome barriers to circular businesses in a collaborative way. Get inspired by others, discuss possibilities and build new professional relationships and networks. Join the Conference on 8-9 December and make it happen!

Plastics: closing the loop and beyond

Plastics have tangible and substantial societal benefits, but they also have significant and long-term drawbacks when not treated properly during their life cycle. Valorization of materials and increasing resource productivity are essential, but the creation of a systemic and cultural change is of primary importance. We need to enhance the circular model to achieve better economic, environmental and social outcomes. In doing so, we have to maintain the value of materials, design and manufacture products more efficiently, collaborate in life cycle thinking and contribute to scientific studies. During the conference, we will discuss cross-cutting subjects covering the entire plastics value chain: business models & design, marine litter & leakages, collection & recycling, feedstock, consumer & behavior, finance and governance.

Active programme: plenary meeting and five high-level roundtable sessions

If all stakeholders along the plastics value chain roll up their sleeves, and commit themselves to supporting efforts in the circular economy, we can make concrete and game-changing progress and create real circular breakthroughs. In two days and in five stages, you and your dedicated fellow table members will come up with concrete solutions to the specific table topics and issues, solutions that will contribute to the development and shaping of the EU Strategy on Plastics. Why not invite your partners to discuss critical themes in advance? More details about the roundtables and the programme can be found on our website www.euconferenceonplastics.com
